The basis for 'active perception' for more than 40 years has been seminaristic group exercising but now as a reader you must of needs take part via the printed page. A written transmission provides less scope for independent input, yet for a real experience of active perception individual co-action is a fundamental requirement - a cursory intellectual approach will not suffice, aesthetic co-operation is also inadequate. When I work with a group of people a copy of the handwriting examples is attached to the wall & participants sit in front of it able to overview the whole tableau. One sits, as one might to view a painting of note, able to focus on the detail - each individual writing sample.
